Cosette
Description
Cosette is a tough women who has been through a lot starting at a young age. At a very young age, she was handed by her mother Fantine to an abusive family. Fantine couldn't afford to raise her, so she gave her daughter to the Thenardiers. This was a very abusive family, and they made young Cosette work for them. And at the same time, Fantine had to provide money for the Thenardiers. This family threatened to through Cosette out of their house, if Fantine didn't pay what she owed the Thenardiers. For example, they would sent Cosette to fetch water, and if she took long, she would be abused. But one day, she was saved by Jean Valjean. Jean bought her from the Thenardiers, and raised her until she was old enough to marry. Cosette became very close to Jean Valjean, and he took on the role of her father. Later on in her life, she met the love of her life. Cosette fell in love with Marius Pontmercy. They both wanted to get married, but there was always an obstacle preventing them from getting married. For example, Jean Valjean found out that Marius knew where Jean and Cosette where staying, and right away, Jean Valjean and Cosette moved to a new home. Another obstacle was that Marius' grandfather, named M. Gillenormand, didn't approve of the marriage. This was because, Marius nor Cosette had any money to bring into the marriage. But one day Jean Valejean let Cosette marry. She married the love of her life Marius, and she was as happy as can be.
The Evolution of Cosette
Cosette's life changed a lot, throughout the book. At first, she was an orphan who lived with the Thenardiers. Here Cosette was abused, and she lived a very hard childhood. Her childhood was full of sadness and terror. Until one day, Jean Valjean came to her rescue. He bought her from the Thenardiers, and from that day on she wasn't abused again. Cosette was raised by Jean Valjean, and she grew to become a very independent person. She grew very close to Jean Valjean. One day, she fell in love with a boy named Marius. She wanted to marry him, but there was always an obstacle stopping her. Once she finally was able to marry Marius, her life went uphill. Cosette's life went from very negative to extremely positive, which makes her a dynamic character.

Cosette: Dynamic
Overall Theme
I believe that the overall theme for Cosette was perseverance. I say this, because although she had a very cruel childhood, she never gave up hope. She was treated terribly by the Thenardiers, but she always tried to keep her mind on change. Cosette didn't just give up on life, instead she just waited for the positives to enter her life. And that is what happened once Jean Valjean saved her from the mistreatment of the Thenardiers.
Motivation
I think Cosette's main motivation was, Marius. Although Cosette's love towards Marius was very distant, by this I mean that Jean Valjean was very paranoid about someone knowing where they live, so Marius and Cosette never really spent time together. But, even though they didn't spend time together, Marius served Cosette as a motivation for the future. Cosette could always look forward to the future, hoping that one day she might be able to spend the rest of her life with her beloved Marius.
